"Your highest function is simply to be the person you are capable of being, and from that effort -- the development of your kindness and positivity, your vulnerability and availability to life --
your calling will emerge."
I'm Alyssa aka "Little Lyss". I do a lot of things, and you might call me multi-passionate. I lift, I run, I learn, I teach, I coach, and I educate.
As a young girl I fell in love with the incredible potential of our bodies. I grew up an athlete, which led me down a life long path of movement, pushing my own fitness potential, and this fostered my deep desire to learn, and use this knowledge to help others. I decided I wanted to spend my life teaching others about this secret I had discovered. I went on to get my B.S. in Health Sciences where I decided that becoming an exercise professional was the path for me. I then got my M.S. in Exercise Physiology, and am currently pursuing my PhD in Exercise Physiology. I research metabolism, exercise, and how the two are integrated in helping us become our healthiest selves.
I have done weight lifting competitions, obstacle course races, ultra marathons, teach group fitness classes, worked as a personal exercise trainer, and am an exercise science instructor. I have an overflowing passion for exercise, nutrition, and helping others find joy in fitness and a strong belief that open honest open education is the key to helping others find success in their health.
I believe in a no-BS approach to exercise and nutrition based in realistic, safe, scientific backed practices and making fitness fun again!
I help others get more from their training and learn to celebrate what their bodies are capable of rather than focusing on what they look like.
